For home cleans-ups you need a 15yard (15 ft long, four feet tall and 8 ft wide) or 20yard (20 feet long four feet tall and 8 feet wide). However the size of the most appropriate dumpster might depend on the extent of your home clean-up or remodeling. Big remodeling jobs will probably need a 30yard.
