Seneca Meadows, Inc. is a waste management facility dedicated to the preservation and advancement of the environment.
Since our inception in 1983, we've earned the support of national environmental organizations through our exemplary compliance record and our many environmental initiatives.
Our operations are centrally located in Seneca Falls, New York, making us the primary disposal facility for businesses and communities throughout the State.
In environmental controls, mitigation, and our every day operations, we exceed regulatory requirements to provide the highest quality service for our customers and our community.
Reducing America's reliance on foreign oil has been the goal of government and industry for decades.
Seneca Meadows joined the effort in 1995 with the establishment of a landfill gas to energy plant on its site.
The plant, which is owned and operated by Aria Energy Corp. is one of the largest in the nation and produces sufficient electricity for thousands of homes and businesses.
Landfill gas, a byproduct of organic waste decomposition, is collected from the landfill and piped to the gas plant to burn as fuel in the engine generators.
At Seneca Meadows, we operate our waste management facility with an environmental integrity that surpasses industry standards: With more extensive environmental controls and higher caliber monitoring equipment, we go beyond the requirements of our permits to provide advanced protection for the air and water at our site and in our community.
The Seneca Meadows Landfill operates under 50 local, state and federal permits; and undergoes inspections from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the Environmental Protection Agency.
Seneca Meadows offers a free drop-off service for your household recyclables, so if you miss your regular pick-up, or go over your blue bin limit, you can recycle them here.

Renewable natural gas: Is there such a thing?
There is at the Seneca Meadows Renewable Resource Park.
The Innovative Energy Systems/Landfill Energy Systems' renewable natural gas plant is the second green energy operation at the park to produce a domestic energy source, in addition to the landfill gas-to-energy plant.
At the renewable natural gas plant, landfill gas derived methane, provided by Seneca Meadows, is purified to produce up to 3,000 standard cubic feet per minute of pipeline quality "natural gas."
